Dual Degree Engineering

Have you ever dreamed of working for Delta Air Lines? Conducting research that improves the accuracy of medical devices? Developing the first biodegradable “Styrofoam” cup? Interning with Home Depot?

These are just a few of the career opportunities Dual Degree graduates are successfully pursuing! The Dual Degree program provides Agnes Scott College students with the opportunity to combine the value of a liberal arts education with a second undergraduate degree from a nationally ranked engineering school.

Dual Degree students attend Agnes Scott College for 3 years. While enrolled at ASC, they have the opportunity to experience SUMMIT by selecting a major and specialization that align with their academic purpose and pursuing global and leadership experiences. This “re-invented” liberal arts education emphasizes the selection of a program of study from 34 different undergraduate majors and the integration of experiential learning that develops leadership skills and an understanding of complex global dynamics.

During these 3 years at Agnes Scott College, students are also preparing themselves for their future career in engineering by completing the required prerequisite courses in small classroom settings that emphasize collaborative learning with professors and peers. After a holistic review of their application and acceptance, students transfer to Georgia Tech for 2+ years.

Upon completion of both degrees’ requirements, a student is awarded a Bachelor of Arts from Agnes Scott College and a Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
